1.Krista, his friend, noticed him looking sad.
他的朋友，Krista，注意到他看上去很傷心。
notice sb. do/doing sth.注意到某人做/正在做某事
例子：I noticed her looking at me when I turned around.
我轉過身的時候注意到她正看著我。
2. He worked very hard, both by himself and with Krista. 無論獨自一人時還是和克里斯塔時，他學習都非常努力。
(1)by oneself意為“單獨地，靠自己地(alone or independently)”。如：
例子：All his friends have deserted him and he is all by himself now. 他所有的朋友都離棄他了，現在他孤獨一人。
(2)both 用作形容詞，意思是 “二者的，雙方的” 作。還可作代詞，意思是 “二者都” 位于行為動詞前，be動詞后。
例子：His parents are both teachers and they both work hard.
他的父母都是老師，他們工作都很努力。
3. It’s all because of your help!
這都是由于你的幫助！
because of是復合介詞，其后接名詞、帶刺、動名詞等；because是連詞，其后接句子。如：
例子：I didn’t buy it because it was too expensive.
我沒有買是因為它太貴了。
He is here because of you.
他為你而來了這里。
