French/frentʃ/
不可數名詞，翻譯為“法語”。French還可作為形容詞，翻譯為“法國的，法國人的”。
eg：These French visitors all like Chinese food.
這些法國游客都喜歡中國食物。
eg：We Chinese speak Chinese.
我們中國人說漢語。
Her mother is Chinese and her father is ________(Canada)．(湖北荊州)
【點撥】句意為：***媽是中國人，她父親是加拿大人。
此處需用Canada的形容詞形式Canadian。

leaf/liːf/ n．
樹葉，葉子 可數名詞，其復數形式為leaves。
eg：The leaves on the tree are green.樹上的葉子是綠色的。
英語中有些以“f/fe”結尾的可數名詞變復數時要變“f/fe”為“v”再加“es”。
eg：knife→knives刀子

How much do you know about the U.S.?
關于美國你知道多少？
知道的內容是不可數名詞，因此用how much提問。知道很多……用know a lot about…或know much about…。
Here be…這是……和There be…那是……這兩個句型中的be都由后面名詞的單復數決定，若其后加兩個名詞，由離be近的名詞的單復數決定be的單復數，即“就近原則”。
eg：Here is a bottle of juice.這是一瓶橘汁。
There are four apples on the plate.
盤子上有四個蘋果。
There is a cat and four flowers in the room.
房間里有一只貓和四朵花。
There are four flowers and a cat in the room.
房間里有四朵花和一只貓。
