第一部分內容：專項突破
ing形式作定語
動詞ing形式包括現在分詞和動名詞，在句中可作主語、表語、賓語、補足語、定語、狀語等。動詞的ing形式保留著動詞的若干特征，同時又具有形容詞、副詞、名詞等特征，有時態和語態的變化形式。其時態和語態形式如下表所示。
1.現在分詞作定語
(1)單個現在分詞作定語時，通常放在所修飾的名詞之前。表示現在分詞的動作正在進行，分詞和所修飾的名詞是邏輯上的主動關系。
(2)分詞短語作定語時，放在所修飾的名詞之后。所修飾的名詞是現在分詞的邏輯主語，分詞和邏輯主語之間是主動關系。此時相當于一個定語從句。
(3)作定語的及物動詞的現在分詞形式為doing和being done。當被修飾的名詞與分詞之間為主動關系時，用doing；當被修飾的名詞與分詞之間為被動關系且表示動作正在進行時，用being done；作定語的不及物動詞的現在分詞形式只有doing。
◆He spoke in a low voice in order not to wake the sleeping child.
為了不吵醒那個正在睡覺的孩子，他說話聲音很低。
◆Can you see the star moving in the sky?
你能看見那顆在天上移動的星星嗎？
◆The film being shown in the cinema is exciting.
正在電影院上映的那部電影很令人激動。
(2)表示經常性、習慣性動作或現在(當時)的狀態(變為定語從句時多用一般現在時態或一般過去時態)。
①We lived in a room facing the south.
→We lived in a room which/that faced the south.
②The factory making these pens is a small one.
→The factory which/that makes these pens is a small one.
2．動名詞作定語
動名詞作定語用于說明被修飾詞的用途、功能或目的，常放在被修飾詞之前。
◆a walking stick＝a stick for walking 拐杖
◆a washing machine＝a machine for washing 洗衣機
◆a reading room＝a room for reading 閱覽室
◆She trained five times a week at her local swimming pool.
她一周在當地的游泳池訓練五次。
