Language Points
1. –What a great day! 多么美好的一天！
What a great day!是由what引導的感嘆句。
What 意為“多么；真；太”，用作定語，修飾名詞。
此處句式結構為：What+a/an+形容詞+可數名詞單數形式
(+主語+謂語）!， 口語中?？梢允÷灾髡Z和謂語。
►What a new watch (it is)! 多么新的一塊手表??！

wonder作動此處意為“想知道；想弄明白”，相當于 want to know。
►I wonder what the new teacher will be like.
我想知道新老師是什么樣。
I wonder whether…意為“我想知道是否……”,相當于I wonder if 是一個請求允許的交際用語，詢問對方是否允許自己做某事。
►I wonder whether /if I could use your bike.
我想知道我是否能用一下你的自行車。
whether VS if
whether：“是否”；是……(還是)，表示遲疑或兩個可能性之間的選擇或兩種情況都真實，其后可與or (not) 連用?？梢龑е髡Z從句、表語從句、賓語從句、讓步狀語從句等，引導主語從句時可置于句首。
If：“是否”，引導賓語從句。一般不與or (not)連用。也可引導狀語從句，意為“如果”。
3.I’ve put on five pounds! 我都胖了五鎊了!
put on意為“增加（體重）；發胖”。
►I exercise every day, so I never put on weight.
我每天鍛煉身體，所以從來不發胖。
put on的其他用法
意為“穿上；戴上”
►She put on her coat and went out.
意為“上演；舉辦”
►The band is hoping to put on a show before the end of the year.
4.I wonder if it’s similar to the Water Festival of the Dai people in Yunnan Province.
我想知道它是否和云南傣族的潑水節相似。
similar 是形容詞，意為“相似的；相像的”，無比較級，常用短語“be similar to…”意為“與……相似”。
►She is similar to her mother. 她長得像媽媽。
