Yunnan

Yunnan is situated on a plateau in southwest China.“Yunnan” in Chinese means “south of the clouds”. The people of Yunnan are proud of living on this blessed land. People like to call Yunnan the province of “perpetual(永久的) spring”. Because of its abundant(豐富的) natural resources,Yunnan enjoys the reputation of the “kingdom of flora and fauna”, “kingdom of medicinal herbs”,“natural garden”,“hometown of perfumes”,“hometown of animal fossils” and is a popular area for tourism(旅游業). 

The Stone Forest is known as “One of Earth’s Natural Wonders”.All visitors to Kunming from home and abroad never hesitate to come here to admire the unique scenes formed by the stones.

Dali, a historically and culturally famous city of China, is famous for her historical interest. During the Tang and Song Dynasties,it was the capital of Nanzhao and Dali Kingdoms,the political,economic and cultural centre of Yunnan,an important gateway(門戶) of cultural exchange and trading with south­eastern Asian countries,and an important pass of the ancient “Silk Route of the South”.

Situated in the northwest plateau,Lijiang (the Beautiful River) got its name from its position at the middle reaches of the beautiful Jinsha River.Scattered(分散) on an area of 7,648 square kilometers,the population is made up of the Naxi,Bai,Lisu,Pumi,Yi,Miao minority groups. 因為生長的稻子,夏天可以看到群山變成了翠綠色。

本句“sees the mountains turn bright green”為“see+賓語+賓補”句型。其中turn bright green為不帶to的不定式作賓補。

(1)“感官動詞+賓語+賓補”的常見形式:

感官動詞+賓語(名詞/代詞)do表示動作的全過程doing表示動作正在進行done表示被動和動作已經完成

(2)常見的感官動詞:五看see, watch, observe, look at, notice;兩聽hear, listen to;一感覺feel。

句中people have worked in harmony with nature to make these terraces and grow rice是定語從句,先行詞為the way,從句引導詞為in which。way在此作“方式,方法”講。

(1)當way后面的從句缺少狀語時,關系詞用in which/that, 也可以省略。

(2)當way后面的從句缺少主語、賓語或表語時,關系詞用which/that(作賓語時可以省略)。
