1. 一般現在時
形式：主語 + am/is/are；主語 + do/does
功能：用來描述 1）現在存在的特征或狀態；
2）經常發生的或習慣性動作；
3）客觀事實或普遍真理。
例句：1) The lion is a large animal of the cat family.
2) They walk to school every day.
3) Light travels faster than sound.
2. 一般過去時
形式：主語 + did；主語 + was/were
功能：用來描述 1）過去某個時間發生的動作或產生的狀態；
2）過去經常發生的或習慣性動作。
例句： 1）I got up at 6:30 yesterday.
2）My father was very busy last week.
3. 一般將來時
形式：主語 + will/shall + do；主語 + am/is/are + going to do；主語 + am/is/are + to do；
功能：用來描述 1）將來要發生的動作或產生的狀態；
2）計劃、打算、決心去做某事；
3）即將發生或肯定要發生某事。
例句： 1) He will come tomorrow.
2) Mary and Jane are going to see the film tonight.
