Grammar
英語中有兩種語態:主動語態和被動語態。主動語態表示主語是動作的執行者,被動語態表示主語是動作的承受者。如:
Many people read this novel.
(主動語態,主語Many people是read這一動作的執行者)
This novel is read by many people.
(被動語態,主語This novel是read這一動作的承受者)
用法
(1)不知道或沒必要說明動作的執行者是誰。
Paper is made from wood.
(2)需要強調動作的承受者。
He was awarded the first prize.
(3)出于禮貌等方面的考慮不愿說出動作的執行者。
He was asked to give a talk about how to learn English well.
(4)用于表示“據說/據報道/人們相信”等的固定句式。
Translation:
據說我們將在校園里使用機器人。
It’s said that robots will be used in our school.
人們相信健康重于財富。
It is believed that health is above wealth.
被動語態的注意事項如下:
(1) there be結構沒有被動語態。
(2) happen,rise,appear,come out等不及物動詞(短語)沒有被動語態。
(3)主動句中賓語為反身代詞的沒有被動語態。
(4) look,sound,smell 等系動詞或sell,write, wash等表示主語內在“品質”或“性能”的不及物動詞可以用主動語態表示被動含義。e.g. These books sell well.這些書賣得很好。
(5) talk about,pay attention to,take care of 等動詞短語在變為被動語態時,其中的介詞不可遺漏。e.g. She takes good care of her daughter.
Her daughter is taken good care of by her.
她把女兒照顧得很好。
(6)在主動語態中,see,watch,hear等感官動詞和使役動詞make后接省略to的動詞不定式,但在變為被動語態時,要把省略的to還原。
e.g. I saw my boss buy some postcards.
→My boss was seen to buy some postcards by me.
我看見我的老板買了一些明信片。
(7)雙賓語結構改為被動語態時,若直接賓語作主語,動詞后要加上介詞;若間接賓語作主語,則動詞后不用加介詞。
My teacher gives me some advice.
→ Some advice is given to me by my teacher.
→I am given some advice by my teacher.
我的老師給我許多建議。
