adjectives and adverbs
1. 形容詞的句法功能
形容詞可放在名詞之前作定語，也可放系
動詞之后作表語，還可作賓語補足語等。
e.g. Did you see that old photograph that I found? It’s a lovely picture.
你看見我找到的那張老照片了嗎？畫面真美。(定語)
They were very nice.
他們很友善。(表語)
People’s lives seem busy now.
現在人們的生活似乎很忙碌。(表語)
We must keep our classroom clean and tidy.

形容詞作定語一般放在名詞之前，但如果修飾的是不定代詞something, anything, nothing, somebody, anybody, nobody等，就要放在后面。

2. 副詞的句法功能
副詞一般用作狀語，修飾動詞、形容 詞、副詞及全句，表示程度、方式等。

比較級的句型：
1) 比較級+than，表示“比…更…”
e.g. Health is more important than wealth.
健康比財富更重要。
He got up earlier than I did this morning.

2) 比較級+ and+比較級，表示“越來越……”。
e.g. The story gets more and more
exciting. 故事變得越來越激動人心。
Our lives are getting better and better.

3) The+比較級，the+比較級，表示“越……，越……”
e.g. The more time you spend on it, the greater progress you will make.

同級比較一般采用as...as…句型，否定句可以用not so / as…表示。
