一般過去時的被動語態

Liu was encouraged at first to train for the high jump.

Liu Xiang’s ability in hurdling was noticed by Sun Haiping.

我們知道,被動語態的動詞形式為“be+動詞的過去分詞”,其中be為助動詞,根據不同的人稱和時態有形式的變化。因此,一般過去時的被動語態肯定句的結構為:

主語+was/were+動詞過去分詞(+by+動作執行者)

一般過去時被動語態的各類句式與一般現在時被動語態的各類句式類似,你可以嘗試總結嗎?

否定句:主語+was/were+not+動詞的過去分詞(+by+動作執行者)

e.g.The window was not broken by Tom.

一般疑問句:Was/Were+主語+動詞的過去分詞(+by+動作執行者)

e.g. Was the room cleaned by Tom?

特殊疑問句:特殊疑問詞+was/were+主語+動詞的過去分詞(+by+動作執行者)

e.g. When was the book published?

前面我們總結了一般過去時被動語態的各類句式,那么encourage sb. to do sth, allow sb. to do sth.等不定式作賓語補足語的結構在被動語態中如何處理呢?我們來對比一下其主動語態與被動語態的形式:

The school encouraged Liu Xiang to train for the high jump.

Liu Xiang was encouraged (by the school) to train for the high jump.

可以看出,被動語態的句子是把主動語態中的賓語提到了主語的位置,賓語補足語的位置不變。應該注意,這樣的句子往往不會提到動作的執行者。這正是被動語態的特點:被動語態強調動作承受者,而不強調動作執行者。
